The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for Thursday. The Watch covers most of southeast Texas including Galveston County. The Weather Service has also issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Thursday and Friday.
The culprits are a deep low pressure trough moving out of the Rockies, cool front expected to reach the coast late Thursday and an expected influx of low-level moisture as winds swing around to the south ahead of the advancing front.
This latest system is more potent than the one a couple of days ago, so the possibility of severe thunderstorms, as well as heavy rain, is greater than with our last system.
Unfortunately, the first two days of the Lone Star Biker Rally may be somewhat messy, as rain is expected to linger through much of Friday. On the positive side, conditions still appear likely to improve on Saturday and Sunday and weather may be near ideal for both Halloween and the last couple of days of the Rally.
