It now seems as though that the weather may be acceptable for much, if not all of today, the first official day of the Lone Star Rally in Galveston.
Based upon the slow movement of the cool front and upper-low to our west, most of the rain today will remain north and west of Galveston County though there still will be a few thundershowers popping up in the area. With this trend, the best chance for heavy rainfall, and possibly severe thunderstorms, in Galveston will come tonight and early Friday. Accordingly, the Flash Flood Watch for the area still remains in effect through Friday morning.
Rain and clouds should be slow to move out on Friday, but we are likely to see noticeable improvement by Friday night. The weather for Saturday and Sunday still appears to be near ideal with sunshine returning, along with seasonably cool temperatures.
