"The Influence & Architecture of Nicholas Clayton," a Lecture, at Bishop's Palace November 13th On November 13, one of Texas' leading architectural historians, Stephen Fox, is back to talk about the legendary architect, Nicholas Clayton. Clayton was responsible for many of the major public, commercial, and residential buildings in Galveston, bearing his signature decorative brick, stone and ironwork as well as more modest wooden houses of characteristic grace and style.

"Forgotten Gateway" builds on a growing scholarly and public interest in the history of migration patterns to America and Galveston’s place as one of the nation's top immigrant ports in that history.
