Friendswood cruises to first-round victory

HOUSTON — The No. 4 Lady Mustangs didn’t waste any time in the bidistrict round.
Friendswood made it look easy and breezed by Rosenberg Terry on Tuesday, 25-12, 25-9, 25-10.
Jasmine Casey and freshman Jill Bergeson each had 12 kills. Casey added 12 digs. Aimee Peck and Kaelan O’Neill each served up four aces while O’Neill also contributed 11 digs. Sister Siobhan O’Neill dished out 30 assists.
The Lady Mustangs (38-6) will play Houston Reagan (15-5), who beat Sterling in straight sets in its bidistrict match. The area round contest most likely will be held Thursday with a site and time yet to be determined.
